Satisfying Relationships

Counselling and sex therapy for couples and individuals in Surrey

About me

Geraldine Myers MBACP; MCOSRT; MCIPD

I offer individual and couple counselling, sex therapy and sex addiction recovery. I am based at my private practice in Ewell, Surrey (close to Epsom), within easy access of train, bus and main road links and with parking outside.

I have worked with a wide range of clients and their difficulties, both privately, in the NHS and within a variety of specialist agencies, organisations and consultancies. For 8 years, until the end of 2013, I was also a couples counsellor and sex therapist with Relate.

I provide a safe, non-judgemental and confidential environment where we can work with your issues or difficulties. I may gently challenge your views and assumptions and help you to see things from a different perspective.

I originally trained as a Psychodynamic Counsellor (1998-2000) and then trained with Relate as a Couples Counsellor (2005), using a Systemic approach before obtaining a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychosexual Therapy (2008-2009) which is based largely on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). In 2010 I gained the new ATSAC Certificate in Treating Sex Addiction and Compulsivity.

I now incorporate all the approaches and theoretical knowledge in my training to underpin my thinking and guide me. I also combine this with an openness to other theories, ideas and viewpoints so that the way I work with you is tailored to your needs and issues.

Although I work with a wide range of problems and difficulties (see the list below), I have a special interest in the struggle we all have in maintaining healthy and balanced relationships in our lives.

I am a member of BACP and COSRT.
